The World Cup 2018 ends on Sunday, but there’s still plenty football to go around before that day. The competition though, has come a long way since its start last month. Lots of teams have crashed out, including ones with the biggest stars. Kudos however must go to the remaining giant national sides; 3 of which have a decent number of Chelsea stars.

While we have lost some players like Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta, we still have a great representation at the tournament. The semi-finals started on Tuesday, with Belgium taking on France, and both sides boast 5 Chelsea players between them. Belgium have Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi, and the French national side have N’Golo Kanté and Olivier Giroud. France won this tie, and Belgium will have to play the third place match.

On Wednesday, England’s Gary Cahill and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be looking to make it to the finals when they take on Croatia in their crucial tie.

Regardless of what happens in these games, we can be sure to see at least, two Chelsea players playing in the World Cup final come Sunday. I think that is amazing, and worth celebrating, especially seeing as most other European giants (clubs) have as little as one or zero representation in the competition at the moment. Above anything, it shows how good our players are, and how much they contribute at both club and international level.

It will be difficult to see a final between our players, as picking a side wouldn’t be an easy task. However, you would agree that it would be a dream come true for us to get that kind of match up. If it happens, regardless of whoever wins, we will be happier for it in the end.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
