Chelsea are now set to appoint Maurizio Sarri after agreeing to pay Napoli £3.5million in compensation.
Chelsea are edging closer to landing the ex-Napoli manager Sarri and a deal is expected to be announced soon.
Chelsea are yet to sign a player so far in the transfer market, and the club is drawing up a list of transfer targets, with Antonio Conte expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
Reports claim Sarri has identified Belgium international Dries Mertens as a player who can excel in the Premier League.
According to The Telegraph, Sarri has even told close friends that he’s looking to bring the Belgian forward with him to London.
Mertens has scored 67 goals for Napoli since Sarri took over the reins back in 2015 and is just another Napoli player to have been linked with the incoming Italian.
