Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is set for his first job as a manager, and the 39-year-old is already gearing up since his appointment as Derby County manager.

Lampard will hope to sign a couple of Chelsea talents on loan and has wasted no time in using his old contacts to try prise away Chelsea star Jay Dasilva on loan for the season, according to the Mirror.

The 20-year-old returns to the club from Charlton, where he has impressed immensely.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer even compared him to the legendary Ashley Cole.

Bowyer said: “I played against Ashley at a young age and I think Jay is very similar – but probably better than Ashley Cole was at his age.

“Everyone knows how good Ashley was, probably England’s best offensive left-back for a long, long time. Jay is the same.

“Everybody thinks because he’s small, he might struggle. But he’s unbelievable in the air.”
