N’Golo Kante is definitely reaping the fruit of his labour, as he has won two Premier League titles and also the FA Cup.

The Chelsea midfielder is part of the France team that will be hoping to lift the World Cup in Russia and the 27-year-old has many multiple individual honours to his name, including our Player of the Year award for 2018.

Kante is well known for his humility and quietness and he told Chelsea in the main interview in this month’s Chelsea magazine what it is like to collect such accolades, as he admitted that they make him nervous.

“I get a little nervous about award ceremonies,” he says.

“It’s not something I’m used to doing, it’s only been happening to me in the last two or three years, but it’s sometimes a little bit difficult because English isn’t my first language and it all happens very fast and then I have to speak in front of everyone.

“But it is good. I will not say I’m a natural performer on stage, but I’m happy to receive this kind of award and I think going on to thank everyone is a good thing to do.

“Because I’m not the one who scores many goals, to be chosen by the fans for my season is something I have to appreciate and thank them for,” he added.

Kante also spoke to Chelsea about the latest team trophy won.

“The FA Cup is a new addition on my list of honours. Last season we missed out on it in the final so I’m happy this season we could get this trophy.

“We all know how the season was, so to finish in this way is beautiful for everyone, for the team, for the club, for the fans and everyone supporting Chelsea.

“I’m happy for the team, I’m happy I got to play in this kind of game, and to win it is always good.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
