Chelsea and Barcelona played out one of the most emotional games in the Champions League semifinal in 2009.

Having put in a strong tactical display to get a goalless draw at the Nou Camp, it was a different Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge as Guus Hiddink’s men were mentally ready for any Barca onslaught.

Michael Essien scored a thunderbolt for the Blues, who then had three penalty shouts turned down. With the game in stoppage time, Andres Iniesta scored the equaliser that knocked Chelsea out of the competition and broke the hearts of the Chelsea faithful.

The Barca legend has admitted that the game was the most magical in his career.

“There are certain games that mark your career and for me, at club level, there are no bigger moments than that,” Iniesta told Daily Mail.

“Stamford Bridge was the most magical night of my club career.”
