In the eyes of pundits and football analysts, Chelsea were completely out of the running for a Champions League place next season; but the victory against Liverpool has changed everything. Tottenham and Liverpool were the teams tipped to join the Manchester clubs in the competition next season, but I have a feeling there may be an upset come May 13.
Tottenham’s loss to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday has given us a lifeline back into the race for the top four. It is a slim chance, but it yet may favour us. That loss means we now trail them by just two points. The win over Liverpool now means we are three points behind Jurgen Klopp’s men with a game in hand.
Chelsea now need to beat Huddersfield on Wednesday to put pressure on Spurs and Liverpool.
So the way I see it, there are two actual possibilities that could come to be on May 13 – we could usurp either Liverpool or Tottenham. But it all rests on our shoulders to work hard and win those games because even if they lose and we don’t win, it would have been for nothing in the end. So we must go all out starting with the game against Huddersfield, because I have belief that one of our rivals will drop points, and we have to make sure they regret it.
We can really shock the entire league and the perfect end to our season.
