Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is on a season-long loan deal at Selhurst Park from Chelsea and he was instrumental in Crystal Palace’s crucial 3-2 win over fierce rivals Brighton on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries this season but his impressive performances since returning has led to speculation surrounding his future.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he wants the Chelsea youngster on a permanent deal for next season, but the Chelsea loanee does not want to think about where he’ll be playing next season until his side are mathematically safe.
“I really haven’t thought about what’s going to happen next season,” he said.
“I’ve still got a few games now.
“Big games coming up, so I’m focused with Palace. Whatever happens next season, I’m not really looking at that right now. I’ll deal with that when it comes.
“The experience of being a Premier League player playing every week is just massive.
“The feeling of it, of getting three points, I’m just not used to it.
“Every game means something, the supporters are fantastic and since I’ve come to Palace I’ve learnt to fight as a team and for the three points.
“We still have a lot of fighting to do so I’m very grateful for Palace and for the season I’ve had.”
Prior to this season Loftus-Cheek had started just six Premier League games in his career but the England international is now enjoying regular game time in south London.
