Following the Champions League 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday night, Chelsea now have consecutive Premier League away trips to Manchester United and Manchester City on the horizon, and Cesar Azpilicueta believes the players can now go into those matches in confident spirits.
A lot was said after Chelsea’s woeful defeats to Bournemouth and Watford, but Chelsea bounced back with consecutive wins against West Brom and Hull City, as well as an impressive performance against Barcelona.
Chelsea vice-captain Cesar Azpilicueta believes that the side has responded well to the bad moments that followed after the losses.
“After two tough defeats a few weeks ago the team responded with two wins against West Brom, and then Hull City in the FA Cup,” said Azpilicueta.
“Against Barcelona it was also a great performance from the team, nearly perfect. Now we have a tough game on Sunday and we have to turn our heads to the next target, the Premier League, and try to get as high as possible.”
