A truly disappointing 4-1 defeat against Watford saw Chelsea record  consecutive defeats in a space of a week after last week’s 3-0 drubbing against Bournemouth.

Here are 3 quick thoughts from the game:

MORE MISERY FOR CHELSEA

Who would have thought it was a Premier league game seeing the scoreline at first? Watford sent Chelsea to the driers. It was real whipping for Conte’s team and surely spells doom for the club. Chelsea were pedestrian in possession exemplified by the abject Tiemuoe Bakayoko who was deservedly sent off. More to it was our poor defensive play and clueless attacking play. It was shameful that our first shot on goal came in the final quarter of the game. Chances created read Watford with about 21 compared to Chelsea’s paltry 7. We deserved to lose this game no doubt about it. Chelsea are speedily losing ground and need act fast and right.

IS THIS THE END FOR CONTE AT CHELSEA?

The major conclusion in the minds of many football fans is that Conte might just be sacked. Poor relations with the club’s hierarchy, dressing room mutiny, poor form and results are too many subplots in the Italian’s second season at the club. Chelsea poor form in the new year has seen us win just two games. With Champions League qualification in jeopardy, this might just be the end for Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

THE BAKAYOKO CONUDRUM:

There are two sides to the French midfielder’s Chelsea career. First Chelsea bought him, and let academy graduate, Nathaniel Chalobah leave the club for Watford.  Second, the club sold Nemanja Matic and replaced him with Bakayoko. So far the former Monaco player has been poor in every sense. He lacked midfield play, poor marking and defensive play which was glaring to see against Watford. He cost Chelsea points and maybe he has Conte his job.

Let’s hope for the best. Cheers!
