BATSHUAYI NEEDED MORE GAME TIME

Michy Batshuayi would have entered the dressing room at full time beaming with happiness and joy following his Dortmund debut on Friday night.

The Belgium international joined the German giants on loan for the remainder of the season on transfer deadline day, and made his debut for them on Friday. It was a dream debut, as the Belgian was on target twice against FC Koln. The coaching staff and fans of Batshuayi alike would have seen the match with great satisfaction having seen the man endure a torrid past few months at the Bridge, but more importantly, I think his performance on his debut further stressed the argument that the man was always capable of scoring goals, but just didn’t get enough playtime to show it at Stamford Bridge.

Before his arrival at London, Michy played for Marseille, and was the main striker. Perhaps the pressure of playing for a bigger team like Chelsea got to him, coupled with the need to always deliver at a club like ours , and his lack of game time as he played second fiddle to Diego Costa all through last season. So I do not blame the coach or the management. Only a person who hasn’t followed the reign of Roman Abramovich wouldn’t understand how impatient he can be with his managers. So Conte did what he deemed the best for himself and his coaching staff.

However, I do know that given different  conditions, Batshuayi would set the league on fire. I am a huge fan of the man, and I am delighted he has started his career at Dortmund the way he has. Hopefully, Conte is watching too, and when the time is right, the man will be given his chance at Stamford Bridge.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
