A late Willian goal ensured Chelsea didn’t leave Anfield empty, and Antonio Conte can argue that the Blues deserve even more than a point.

See how the players fared in the game

Courtois: Made one mistake that nearly cost the team in the second-half and also made a good save late in the game to keep Chelsea’s hope alive. 6/10

Azpilicueta: Made two great sliding tackles in the second-half to help protect the defence. Had a busy day compared to recent games, and he held his ground. 7/10

Christensen: Commanding performance from the 21-year-old in the middle of the back three. Made one important block on sturridge to save the team, was composed and assured in defence and never felt threatened. His passing was neat and he was arguably the best defender on the night. 7.5/10

Cahill: Not an easy game for the Blues captain against Mohamed Salah, but he fought hard on the left side of the defence. 6.5/10

Kante: Usual energetic performance from the France international and worked hard for the team. 7.5/10

Bakayoko: He was sloppy in possession at times and his mistake led to Liverpool’s goal. Worked hard in the middle of the park. 5.5/10

Drinkwater: His first league start for Chelsea and he gave it his all, with a good first-half performance where he nullified the threat of Coutinho and made some telling runs behind Moreno. 7/10

Alonso: His crossing weren’t dangerous enough and he could have threatened more on the right side of Liverpool defence. 6/10

Zappacosta: This will go down as one of his best Chelsea performances. He was highly effective and dangerous in the first-half as a right wing-back, but tired out in the second-half. 7/10

Hazard: Was the best player in the first-half and worried Liverpool’s defence tirelessly. Had a good game. 7.5/10

Morata: Had one or two good moments, lacked service at times and didn’t do much in the Liverpool box. 6/10

Subs

Fabregas: Replaced Drinkwater with a little over 15 minutes left of normal time, and brought fluidity to Chelsea’s midfield with his passing. 6.5/10

Pedro: Added energy to Chelsea’s attack after replacing Bakayoko with just 14 minutes left. 6/10

Willian: Came on for Zappacosta with 83 minutes gone and scored two minutes later. Added bite to Chelsea’s attack. 7/10`

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
