Chelsea defender David Luiz hasn’t played the last two games for Chelsea, as Antonio Conte has preferred to play youngster Andreas Christensen in the heart of the Chelsea defence.
Surprisingly, the Brazilian didn’t even make the bench for Chelsea against Manchester United, and Conte denied any rift between them and insisted it was a tactical decision.
Luiz sat on the bench in the game against West Brom as Christensen shone again and helped the defence to a clean sheet.
Speaking about the Luiz situation, Conte said: “In every game I have to try to make the best decision for the team and I think in this situation, Christensen deserves to play.
“Christensen is playing very well, but we have to play a lot of games – we play every three days – and I need all the players.”
