Alvaro was brought to Chelsea in the summer as Antonio Conte searched for a replacement for the exiled Diego Costa.
Chelsea had to cough up a record fee of £60m for the former Real Madrid striker, and many believed the 24-year-old won’t justify the amount spent on him.
However, seven games after and seven goals to his name, Morata has proven his critics wrong and has revealed that Conte was the only one who had faith in him.
“It’s the most important thing,” said Morata, when asked about his relationship with Conte.
“I came to Chelsea because one club and one coach believed in me.
“Now I have all of these things and I’m very happy.
“It’s unreal. The first official match [the Community Shield] I made a mistake and I suffer for a few days.
“People didn’t appreciate my situation. But I grew up, showed my character and now things are okay.
“We hope to continue like this.”
