Eden Hazard made his first Chelsea start this season in the 5-1 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, and he was a second-half substitute in the win against Stoke City on Saturday.
Hazard is yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea this season and fans were angry the Belgian wasn’t in the starting lineup against Stoke.
Antonio Conte has revealed he doesn’t want to rush the Chelsea star back into action after suffering a bad injury that needed surgery.
“I think now Eden is improving a lot and for sure he’s in contention for Atletico Madrid,” Conte said.
“After a bad injury and surgery you need time. He’s almost ready to play but if I make this decision it will be because I’m comfortable with it.
“I think we are managing him very well. Other players are also very important for us and now it’s important to be sure he’s ready.”
