The WSL Spring Series opened its campaign during the weekend and the Chelsea Ladies who ended the last campaign as champions launched our challenge to regain the WSL 1 title in confident style on Sunday afternoon at our new ground in Kingston-upon-Thames.

The Chelsea Ladies started life at new ground Kingsmeadow with a resounding win against Bristol City thanks to a brace by Maren Mjelde and more goals from Drew Spence, Fran Kirby, Magdalena Eriksson and Gilly Flaherty.

The Blues were in total control and in devastating form in this game and will now make the trip to Sunderland on Saturday for our first away game of the season.

Our next game at Kingsmeadow will be against Bayern Munich in the first knockout round of the Women’s Champions League, which takes place at 7pm (UK time) on Wednesday 4 October.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
