It’s another weekend win for Chelsea at Stoke City which strongly puts us in battling position in our quest to defend our title. Here are 3 thoughts on the game:

PERFECT RESPONSE FROM CHELSEA

After last weekend’s draw against Arsenal which seemed like a defeat, the feeling among the fans were that Chelsea lacked the verve to seriously challenge for the title. More so, extra pressure from the media downplaying Chelsea’s chances was demeaning. Next up for Chelsea was a daunting trip to Stoke City. The Potters took off points against Arsenal and Manchester United, so anything was possible with regards to their fixture against Chelsea. Facing of one the league’s most daunting sides was terrifying, but also challenging. Clinically Chelsea passed the test with four unreplied goals with chances at a premium. The professionalism and efficiency of Chelsea’s all-round play was the perfect response and tonic to media gibberish and for the rest of the season.

THE KING MORATA SHOW

As this week’s report of Chelsea intending sale of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid emerged, the onus was on Conte’s trusted ‘preferred bridegroom for his daughter’, Alvaro Morata to lead Chelsea to even more glory. Criticism of the Spanish striker’s soft nature in comparison to Costa’s aggressive nature was unfair. Even many predicted that Morata would struggle more, but what other perfect way to silence his critics than score a hat-trick against the league’s ‘rugby’ team. The Spaniard’s finish was sleek and sweet for a memorable Chelsea win. Super man of the match performance from the new Blues N0.9.

IMPRESSIVE DEFENDING

It was unthinkable for Chelsea to play without David Luiz in the sweeper role in central defence as some think there’s no ideal replacement for him in the sweeper role. To Chelsea’s gain this season, we have one of our own doing it so expertly. Andreas Christensen’s brilliant performances in the Brazilian’s stead is surely encouraging and deserves praise. Despite incessant attacking pressure by Stoke City in a bid to get back into the game, our defending was resolute and formidable. Thumbs up to team.

Let’s lift the blues flag flying high. Cheers!
