It was a very difficult encounter at the Wembley Stadium, but Chelsea eventually got the three points via a brace from Marcos Alonso.

See how the players fared in this derby match:

Courtois: Unfortunate not to have kept a clean sheet. Kept Chelsea in this game with some excellent saves. 7/10

Rudiger: Excellent day in office for the summer signing. He was assured at the back and was very solid for the team. 7/10

Christensen: Very mature game from the Dane defender. Didn’t in any way look like a youngster. Played a high pressured derby encounter with so much experience and maturity. Won all his aerial balls and fared well against Kane. 7.5/10

Azpilicueta (C): The captain on the evening did a good job at the back. His clearances, work rate, energy and positioning helped Chelsea at the back. 7.5/10

Alonso: Definitely the man of the match. He did everything right and his free-kick in the first half was excellent, and his 88th minute winner was magnificent. 8.5/10

Moses: Had a good game at right wing-back. Had to do a lot of defending and even looked threatening going forward. 7/10

Kante: Excellent game in midfield for the Frenchman. It’s safe to say that he did the role of two people in the middle of the park. 7.5/10

Luiz: His positional awareness in midfield wasn’t always reliable but he did so many right things as well – like win the ball that led to Chelsea’s winning goal. He worked hard for the team. 7/10

Bakayoko: He showed a glimpse of what he could do at times, but wasn’t the best of performance from the £40 million summer signing. Of course, you’d consider that it is his first game in months. 6/10

Willian: Good game from the Brazilian. Looked sharp going forward for the Blues and hit the post on one occasion. Was eventually subbed off for Pedro. 7/10

Morata: Had a chance to get his second league goal early in the game but his header wasn’t good enough. It was a difficult game for the striker, but he showed his quality on some occasions. 6/10

Subs

Pedro: His hard work and energy was evident immediately he came on for Willian with eight minutes left to play. 6/10

Batshuayi: Unfortunate to score an own goal four minutes after coming on for Morata.
