Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso scored a brace as Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley on Sunday.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte revealed after the game that he wasn’t surprised Alonso scored twice against Tottenham because he expects his wing-backs to be strikers sometimes.

“I am not surprised,” Conte replied when asked if he was surprised by how many goals Alonso scored against Tottenham.

“If you remember last season he scored five or six goals last season and the same Moses. He missed a lot of chances last season to improve his finishing.

“I know very well the wing-backs are the wingers, the real wingers and sometimes they must become strikers.”
