LOAN REPORT: CHELSEA LOAN ARMY START SEASON TO IMPRESS

The 2017/18 campaign has started in earnest and a number of Chelsea players are on loan for this season.

For Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kasey Palmer, they went up against each other as Crystal Palace hosted Huddersfield Town on Saturday – a game which Palace lost 3-0. Despite the defeat, Loftus-Cheek who started in an advanced position for Palace was in good form and had a good game.

Tammy Abraham made his first career start in the Premier League, in Swansea’s goalless draw at Southampton. The striker played 81 minutes and went close with a first-half header before seeing a goalbound second-half effort blocked.

Kurt Zouma played the entire minutes for Stoke and was part of their three-man defence, as the Potters fell to a 1-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison.

For Izzy Brown, he started for Brighton in Saturday evening’s match 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, but he came off after 18 minutes with a hamstring injury.

In the Championship, Ola Aina and Michael Hector were part of Hull’s backline as the Tigers beat Burton 4-1, with Aina providing an assist for one of the goals.

Lewis Baker was a second-half substitute for Middlesbrough against Sheffield United after completing his loan switch to Teesside on Friday. Young Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman was in goal for the Blades – a game Boro won 1-0.

Ike Ugbo was a second-half substitute for Barnsley, as they lost to Ipswich 2-1 on Saturday. The highly-rated Chelsea striker scored his first senior goal in last week’s 4-3 EFL Cup win against Morecambe.

In Saturday’s 1-1 draw between Fulham and Reading, Tomas Kalas was sent off for the Cottagers inside the first minute following a professional foul. However, Piazon was on target for Fulham after as he scored the equaliser after being on target in the League Cup, scoring the opening goal for Fulham in their 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

In League One, Jay Dasilva started for Charlton as they lost away at Plymouth 2-0. Bradley Collins was in goal for Forest Green Rovers in League Two, as they were beaten by the same scoreline at Mansfield Town.

In the Dutch league, Marco van Ginkel who rejoined PSV Eindhoven on loan scored the third goal in a 3-2 win over AZ Alkmaar. Fankaty Dabo started in defence for Vitesse who beat NAC Brada 4-1, with Charlie Colkett and Matt Miazga both coming off the bench.

Todd Kane made his first appearance for Groningen, as he came off the bench to play the final eight minutes in an entertaining encounter that ended in a 3-3 draw with Heerenveen.

In Belgium, Victorien Angban was a late substitute for Waasland-Beveren who won 3-0 at Oostende.

Mario Pasalic joined Spartak Moscow on loan this season after a successful loan spell with AC Milan last season. He opened the scoring in Saturday’s Moscow derby in the Russian Premier League. He netted early in the second half for Spartak, but his team fell to a defeat as CSKA scored two late goals.

In Serbia, Danilo Pantic started for Partizan as they won 1-0 at Vojvodina.
