Many expected Chelsea to drop points today against Everton, but the Blues were dominant away from home, kept a first clean sheet in 11 league games and deservedly beat Everton 3-0 to go seven points clear.

See how the players fared:

Courtois: Barely had anything to do all game and handled every cross that came his way. Would be delighted with the clean sheet. 7/10

Azpilicueta: Strong performance from the Spaniard, but a moment of madness could have earned him a red card when he did the job of Jon Moss. Had a good game. 7/10

Luiz: Dealt with the threat of Lukaku expertly and was calm in possession for the Blues. Was later substituted due to an injury. 7.5/10

Cahill: He popped up to score another important goal from a set piece, and didn’t put a wrong foot in the game. 8/10

Moses: Had a brilliant game against the Toffees; kept looking for space to exploit Everton’s left side of the defence and was a constant threat. 7.5/10

Alonso: Was a very useful outlet on the left flank and protected his defence and was always providing a channel on the left flank. 7/10

Kante: The Frenchman was his usual combative self in the Chelsea midfield and is part of the reason why Courtois was barely tested. 7.5/10

Matic: Had a good game but tarried too long on the ball on many occasions. Other than that, he was efficient and laid the pass that led to Pedro’s goal. 7/10

Hazard: He was man-marked by Everton midfielder Gana, but he still got a chance that almost was on target, ensured Gana got a yellow card for his troubles and he assisted Cahill’s goal. 7.5/10

Pedro: His stunning effort led to Chelsea’s opener and it was a very beautiful goal that opened up the Chelsea onslaught. Had a terrific game. 8.5/10

Costa: Might not have gotten on the scoresheet, but he had a good game nevertheless and troubled Everton’s defence. 7/10

Subs:

Fabregas: He doesn’t need too many minutes to show his worth. Was a late substitute for Pedro and he almost immediately gave a stunning ball to Diego Costa. He assisted Willian’s goal and was a positive influence in the Chelsea midfield. 7/10

Ake: Replaced the injured David Luiz and he ensured the Brazilian wasn’t missed at all. Was calm in possession and his defending was assured, and he surprisingly won an aerial duel against Lukaku. 6.5/10

Willian: Replaced Hazard with just 6 minutes left of the game and almost got a brace. Scored a goal with his first touch and looked really lively. 7/10

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it’s a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I’d rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
