Chelsea defender Gary Cahill spent two nights in the hospital after he took ill earlier this week.
Cahill was admitted to hospital on Tuesday and released on Thursday and the defender looks likely to miss the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham with little time for him to fully recover.
The Blues were hit by a bug before the defeat to Manchester United on Sunday but according to Daily Mail, Cahill’s illness is not believed to be linked with the bug.
Victor Moses, Diego Costa and Marcos Alonso were all hit by the bug before the 2-0 loss at Old Trafford on Sunday. Costa and Moses started but Alonso was forced to pull out minutes before kick-off.
If Cahill fails to fully recover for the game against Tottenham on Saturday, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte might opt for Kurt Zouma, who started against Manchester United on Sunday or captain John Terry.
