Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford today to reduce Chelsea’s gap at the top of the table to just four points with six games left to play but question have been asked about Manchester United’s first goal.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and Graeme Souness, both on punditry duty for Sky Sports concluded that Ander Herrera handled the ball in the build-up to Rashford’s goal.
In the build-up to Manchester United’s first goal, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera stopped a pass from Nemanja Matic by handling the ball before laying on a pass for Rashford to score Manchester United’s first goal.
“The fact that his arm is out and he has a view of it, you do wonder how he misses it and he (Rashford) then goes on to score a great goal,” Lampard said.
Souness also agreed with Lampard.
“The ref has been kind to Man United with some of the challenges,” Souness said.
“We were questioning if the ref got a good view of it and he does. He brings it down spins and delivers a great ball, but that’s a handball.”
