Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is hoping to strengthen Chelsea’s wing-back positions at the end of the season as we do not have adequate competition in those positions at Chelsea.
According to The Sun, 22-year-old Hoffenheim wing-back Jeremy Toljan is reportedly on Conte’s shortlist of transfer targets.
Toljan has made 52 appearances for Hoffenheim since he broke into the first-team at the club and his ability to play in any of the wing-back positions must have convinced Conte to sign him this summer.
Toljan’s contract with Hoffenheim will run out in 2018 and the Bundesliga outfit could well feel forced to cash in on their exciting talent in the summer if they receive a bid from Chelsea.
Toljan was part of the German Olympic team that won silver in Rio Olympics last year.
Juventus, Napoli and Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in the versatile defender.
