With John Terry set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season and Gary Cahill above 30 already, Chelsea are reportedly seeking to bolster the defence at the end of the season.

According to The Sun, Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk is a target for Chelsea and the Blues could include young defender Nathan Ake in a swap deal to land the 25-year-old Southampton defender.

22-year-old Ake spent the first-half of the season on loan at Bournemouth before Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recalled him after a string of impressive performances for Bournemouth.

Ake has been tipped by many to be a future first-team player in Chelsea and it will be sad to see another bright Chelsea youngster leave the club.
