A second string Chelsea side bamboozled Peterborough, and the Blues were exciting all through the game. If not for the red card to John Terry, one can argue that the scoreline would have been worse.

See how the players fared after a 4-1 win against Peterborough

Begovic: Had very little to do in the game, and cannot be faulted for the only goal Chelsea conceded. 7/10

Zouma: Hasn’t played for the senior team for 11 months, and it didn’t show at all. The 22-year-old was ever reliable in defence. 7/10

Terry: Started the game well for Chelsea, and was solid at the back, until he was given a red card with just over 20 minutes left of play. 6/10

Cahill: Didn’t have much to do in defence today, as Chelsea were rock solid against the Posh. He was substituted for youngster Ola Aina in the 57th minute.

Chalobah: His shot from outside the box led to Pedro’s first goal. He was assured in possession and controlled the midfield well, missed a scoring chance and also made a wonderful save to stop a Peterborough counter attack, just after missing a chance. 8/10

Fabregas: Dictated the tempo of the game with some exquisite passing, and his key pass to Pedro in the 52nd minute paved way for Willian’s goal. 8/10

Ivanovic: Didn’t have the energy to burst up and down the flanks as he’d have done in his younger days, but a good performance all the same from the Serbian. His deft cross for Loftus-Cheek led to Batshuayi’s goal. 7/10

Pedro: Definitely the man of the match. He played as a left wing-back and dominated the left flank all through the game. Scored a brace, and could have scored a hatrick but for the woodwork. He was lively all through the game. 9/10

Loftus-Cheek: A wonderful game from the academy product many has tipped for glory. He gave the kind of performance that will be associated with the likes of Yaya Toure. He got an assist, was good on the ball, was willing to beat a man or two, rarely lost possession and created chances for his teammate. Unlucky not to get a goal, and it could be said that this was one of his best games in a Chelsea shirt. 8/10

Willian: Scored a beautiful goal and was lively in attack before his withdrawal in the 73rd minute. 8/10

Batshuayi: Didn’t start the game well, but grew into the match and got a goal and also assisted Pedro’s second goal. Good performance from the 23-year-old. 8/10

Subs

Aina: Came on for Cahill in the 57th minute and had a good game. Was lively as a right wing-back, and was also involved in the buildup to Pedro’s second goal. 7/10

Azpilicueta: With Chelsea down to 10 men, Azpilicueta was brought in to shore things up at the back, and he was solid in defence. 7/10

Kante: Brought in for Willian in the 73rd minute to solidify the middle, after Peterborough scored a goal, and he was his usual energetic self. 7/10

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
