Chelsea players continued their development in their respective loan clubs, and there were many positives for Chelsea.

Nathan Ake scored an important goal for Bournemouth as they won Liverpool 4-3. The Cherries trailed 3-1 with quarter of an hour remaining before two goals in as many minutes drew them level. Ake then scored the match winner late in the match to win the game for his team, and extend Chelsea’s lead on the table.

In the Championship, Kasey Palmer was also on target as he scored his third goal of the season for Huddersfield Town against Blackburn, heading home a corner in the sixth minute, though the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tammy Abraham was not on the scoresheet for Bristol City, although the striker did earn the first-half penalty that ensured Bristol City won their first match in 4 games.

Also in the Championship, Fulham beat Reading 5-0 at Craven Cottage, with Tomas Kalas playing 90 minutes and Lucas Piazon brought on in the 76th minute. However, Izzy Brown played the full game as Rotherham’s winless run extended to 15 matches following defeat at Burton.

Jamal Blackman kept a clean sheet as Wycombe Wanderers cruised into the third round of the FA Cup with a 5-0 win at Chesterfield.

In the Dutch League, two Chelsea players found the back of the net in Vitesse’s 3-1 win over Zwolle. Lewis Baker opened the scoring from the penalty spot and substitute Nathan put the seal on the result in injury time shortly before Matt Miazga came off the bench.

In Italy, Mario Pasalic headed home from close range to equalise for AC Milan at home to Crotone, but the Rossoneri drew the game 1-1 and lost ground on Serie A leaders Juventus.

In Spain, Granada claimed their first La Liga win of the season courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Sevilla in which Jeremie Boga assisted their first goal.

Kenneth Omeruo was in action for Alanyaspor, but they lost to the odd goal in five after conceding an injury-time penalty.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
