Conte’s 3-4-3 system has been a hit, and it has taken us from outside the top 4 position to being top of the league. 17 goals have been scored by Chelsea with none conceded, and it’s been 6 straight victories. Chelsea have been perfect, and are currently the most feared team in the league.
However, we have over 30 players out on loan, and some of them will fit perfectly into Conte’s 3-4-3 system.
These are some players I believe will do a good job in this new system.
The Chelsea centre-back on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach has blossomed into being one of the best centre-backs in Germany and one of the best young defenders in the world. The Danish international is a ball playing defender, who’s comfortable on the ball and can lay passes with ease; his composure is another of his strength, and this will make him fit seamlessly into this formation. He can play the role David Luiz plays in the middle of the 3-man defence.
Our midfield duo of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante are doing a great job in the middle of the park. However, there is one aspect of the game the two of them are from being the best — long-range shots. In fact, only David Luiz in the current Chelsea setup can take a good strike from distance.
Lewis Baker is that man who can take a spectacular strike from outside the box and you’d be sure it would be on target, and his free-kick abilities is also world-class. Besides that, he’s good on the ball, energetic and would give Matic and Kante a run for their money, because he’d bring another dimension to the team.
Whenever I see what Victor Moses is doing on the right flank, I yearn for the same quality on the left. While Marcos Alonso has been good in the left wing-back role, there are times you’d expect more, which rarely happens. He doesn’t have the pace and drive of Victor Moses, though he’s doing a good work defensively.
Chelsea loanee Kenedy will perfectly suit that left wing-back role, and he’s one who’s energetic, has pace, can beat a man or two, he’s good on the ball, has a strong left foot and a good delivery. All these attributes make him perfect for the left wing-back role.
The teenager has been a revelation on loan in the Championship. He has been a key figure for Bristol City, and he’s one with a bright future.
Tammy Abraham will also fit into this system because of his pace and strength upfront. He’s also a goal poacher, can sniff danger and has a knack for being at the right place at the right time, and his finishing is also phenomenal. He’d fit into this system really well and be a good backup for Diego Costa.
These 4 young players can be like a summer signing for the club, and they’d seamlessly fit into Chelsea’s current style of play.
Who else do you think will be a hit in Conte’s 3-4-3 system?
