Even though Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante are Antonio Conte’s first choice pairing in midfield, Conte is reportedly set to bid for Napoli teenager Amadou Diawara according to a report by The Sun.
Conte believes 19-year-old Diawara’s youth and energy will be important for Chelsea in the long run.
Conte is reportedly set to bid £40 million for the player but Napoli director Christian Guintoli has described the Guinean youngster as unsellable at the moment.
Diawara started his career at Italian lower league club San Marino. He moved to Bologna in 2015 as a 17-year-old for a fee of £420,000 and made 34 league appearances in his only season at Bologna.
Diawara joined Napoli in August this year and has made four league appearances and two Champions League appearances for Napoli this season.
